Dr. Lazarof earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with Honors from the University of Southern California (USC) School of Dentistry in 1986. His postgraduate studies focused on the study of disease of the temporal inflammatory joint at the TMJ Research Foundation. Dr. Lazarof is notably recognized as the inventor and developer of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) first cleared immediate load implant, a groundbreaking innovation in dental implantology. In 1991, he introduced the term “immediate load” in a paper, describing it as achieving full function at the time of placement. Dr. Lazarof further contributed to the field with his book “The Immediate Load Implant System, Esthetic Dentistry for the 21st Century,” published in 1998 by Quintessence Publishing Co., Ltd. Over the years, he has continued to advance the dental industry with inventions such as NumBee, a needle-less dental anesthesia system, and Diamoneers™, the next generation of veneers.
Full mouth reconstructions are comprehensive dental procedures designed to restore the entire mouth’s functional and aesthetic aspects. Tailored to your unique needs, these reconstructions often involve a combination of restorative and cosmetic treatments, addressing issues such as missing teeth, decay, worn enamel, and bite problems. Full mouth reconstructions aim to improve oral health, enhance smile aesthetics, and restore overall dental function by incorporating various dental specialties, including prosthodontics, oral surgery, and orthodontics.
Full arch dental implants provide a permanent and stable solution if you struggle with significant tooth loss or edentulism (complete tooth loss) in one or both dental arches. This advanced dental procedure typically involves strategically placing multiple dental implants to support a fixed prosthesis, restoring the entire upper or lower set of teeth. The result is a natural-looking, fully functional smile that enhances oral health, improves chewing efficiency, and provides long-term durability.
Diamoneers are a unique and innovative cosmetic dentistry solution due to their patented process of incorporating diamond dust into porcelain veneers, creating a distinct sparkle when exposed to certain light angles. This process, pioneered by Dr. Lazarof, merges cutting-edge technology with artistic craftsmanship to produce flawless smiles. Diamoneers enhance aesthetic appeal and prioritize durability, resilience, and a seamlessly natural appearance, setting them apart as a pinnacle in cosmetic dentistry.
Crowns and dental bridges play a crucial role in restorative dentistry. Dental crowns, or fixed caps, are customized prosthetics that cover damaged teeth, providing restoration for issues like extensive decay or weakened structures. On the other hand, dental bridges replace missing teeth, attaching to modified and crowned adjacent natural teeth, offering both functional and aesthetic benefits for a seamless smile.
A dental implant comprises three parts—a titanium or ceramic post, an abutment, and a restoration. Built to function like natural tooth roots, dental implants provide bone support and a stable foundation for a single dental crown, a dental bridge, a denture, or a full arch prosthesis.
Many patients are already candidates for dental implants or can qualify after receiving preparatory treatments like bone grafting and tooth extractions. Candidacy is more accurately determined after comprehensive consultation and evaluation with an implant dentist.
Dental implant treatment can range from a few months to over a year. In many cases, implants can be surgically placed soon after the consultation and treatment plan are complete. For patients needing bone grafting, this may be a separate procedure requiring several months of healing before dental implant surgery. After dental implants are placed, recovery can take three or more months before optimal integration is achieved, and a final restoration can be permanently attached. In many cases, patients can wear a temporary restoration during healing.
Dental implants are designed to last for decades and potentially last for the rest of your life! Surgical technology, clinical experience, and your health habits ultimately affect the longevity of your implants. Choosing an experienced implant team like ours at Sargon Dental will provide you with a much more precise and accurate surgery, which will better guarantee the long-term success of your treatment.
